We sell booklets, leaflets, charts, patterns and books. We do not sell finished items. We describe items to the best of our ability. Returns only on items grossly misrepresented. Damages limited to the cost of the item only. No refunds on shipping charges. Any requests for cancellations prior to shipping will incur a 30 cent transaction fee imposed by our credit card processor.
Due to the copyright nature of the items we sell we cannot accept returns.
Not all items are in stock at all times. Vintage, OOP and HTF listings are on a first-come, first-served basis.

Our store carries a mixture of new, vintage and Out of Print booklets and books. We have a smoke-free environment. Most of our stock comes directly from a distributor or wholesaler so it is new, crisp and unused. We make notes on the condition of vintage and used items as well as some new items so you can make an informed decision on whether or not to purchase. Our vintage items are purchased from a variety of sources (estate sales, store closings, etc) so the prior history of these items may not be known. If you would like additional pictures or information, please don’t hesitate to email us.
Shipping: We ship daily except Saturday and Sunday (and Postal holidays) usually within two business days of your cleared payment. We ship using the United States Postal Service and all items in the US will have Delivery Confirmation. First Class items are ALL shipped in padded envelopes with rigid mailers wrapped in plastic to help protect your item. It costs a little more up front but in the long run protects your purchase. Each envelope is stamped, with at least six, DO NOT BEND’s to draw attention from your handler. It costs extra to ship this way so if your item is bent by the Post Office please let your carrier know you are displeased. Also, we ship many OOP items in cartons to further protect your possibly collectible purchase. International purchases over $50.00 must be insured as well as ANY shipments to Mexico, France, Italy, Spain, Malta. We are unable to ship to correctional facilities.
Orders over $100.00 are shipped FREE to the US.
International Buyers (including Canada) please note: The amount of your invoice does not include customs or duty fees. Any duty or customs fees are the responsibility of the buyer and will be levied and paid to your country. They are not included in your invoice. The dollar amount of items allowed without a duty or customs fees varies from country to country so if you are in doubt, please check before purchasing so there will be no surprises when your item(s) arrive. This is the responsibility of the buyer not the seller. Please do not ask that your purchase be marked as a “gift”. This is against our policy (and unlawful besides!).
Payments: Currently we accept PayPal and major credit cards (Visa, Master Card, Discover and American Express) on all transactions. Credit card payments are processed securely through PayPal's portal so none of your credit card information is received by us. You don't need a PayPal account to use this credit card processing service! We will also accept US Postal Money orders (made out to Helen McGowan) from our US buyers. Canadian Buyers: We will accept a Canadian Postal Money Order in US Funds for purchases. No other international money order will be accepted. Please email us for more information.
Special orders: We are always happy to special order items. If you are having difficulty locating an item, please email and we’ll see if we can find it for you.
Sales tax of 5.3% will be collected on all orders shipped to a Virginia address.
